Recommended Books and Series ~The Lunar Chronicles

I can not tell you enough of how much I loved this series, Cress isn’t even out and I already know I’m going to devour it like I did the other. I love the futuristic feel of the books as you can tell she drew inspiration from really close term science fiction ideas like firefly. I am a sucker for fantasy and it a double whammy being fairy tales. I had originally gotten the first 5 chapters of Cinder for free on the nook, which is a good way to check and see if you’ll like the style it’s written like, and by the time I finished that I had no money, not even enough for milk but I needed the end of the story, so I walked and hour to the library to check it out, walked home read it and walked back to turn it in.

When Scarlet came out I was so lucky it was my mother shopping with me because if not there was no way I was going to have the book. Once I had it it didn’t take long for me to pick up old habits and sit down and finish it… while neglecting everything else in the house because I just had to finish it.

I love these characters because it’s so believable, they are so rounded and the moment Cress comes out I’m going to be broke because I don’t ever buy just one book it doesn’t seem possible for me but here it the thing I really really just want everything to do with this series in my house, it’s hard to believe that Cinder was her very first novel as she is SOOOOO good with words.

Just finished reading the book ‘Dark Lands’ by Tony Wheeler. It’s about his travels to the countries of Colombia, Zimbabwe, Congo, Pakistan, Israel-Palestine, Haiti, Nauru & Papua New Guinea. This is a great read- especially for those who have not travelled to these places and are interested in them. As I may not get to see all these countries, it was a great insight into what the “more difficult locations” in this world are like. #book #travel #explore #discover #lonelyplanet #interesting #mustread
