Balloon Picture/Notes Surprise
Someone special’s birthday or anniversary? Surprise them by sneaking into their room/place and filling up balloons with helium. Add a long string and tape on pictures of you two, notes, cards, or other cute items. Try to keep the items paper or light weight so it won’t pull the balloons all the way down to the ground.

This DIY gift is super easy, affordable, and heartfelt. It can be done last minute and for any occasion!
All you need is a jar, some paper and pens, double-stick tape, and scissors.I got my jar for $6 at my local Base Exchange, though I’ve seen them at the ¥100 Store (Japanese $1 Store).Just simply write short reasons why you love that person on a piece of paper and cut them out individually. Fold it up and add it to the jar. Keep writing until the jar is full! Then make your label and attach it to the jar with double-stick tape. It’s that simple!
You can also alter the idea for any occasion. Write reasons why they are a great mom, dad, sister, brother, etc. You can write memories or things that remind you of them. Whatever you can think of!And don’t forget to be creative! You can also add pictures, ticket/movie stubs, and other little nick-knacks to personalize it even further. I added cut-out hearts from the same design that I used to make the card (I took them out for the photo).
I made this for my fiance for our anniversary last year and he said it was the most meaningful gift he had ever received! He enjoyed taking out each little paper and unfolding it to see what I had written. It was also nice for me to write them because it gave me a moment to actually sit down and think about the little things that I love about him.
So I encourage you to put away your wallets and make a gift that truly comes from the heart! And please send me a picture if you do, I would love to see it :)
